PATIENT FOCUS
One of the key priorities of the lab is about keeping our work focused around patients and carers and their needs.
Particularly for technology-focused work, there is a tendency to focus on new, shiny technology, rather than how this might actually influence patient care.
We think that focusing on patients and carers has three main advantages:

It builds on the fact that we are physically based in a hospital, with daily ongoing interactions with patients

It keeps us focused on uses of technology, rather than the technology itself

It lets us work in a collaborative, co-discovery approach, rather than a technology-led approach
We have work like this across multiple areas and projects, including MicroLens, Capable, BrainWear, BrainApp and Indigo Community. This work is supported by a range of funders, including Imperial Health Charity.
